Long bio

Jonathan Rotbard is an Investor at CoinFund, a blockchain-native investment firm founded in 2015, where he focuses on investments in agentic commerce and onchain markets. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Moelis, where he worked on deals across the crypto ecosystem, including the Voyager and BlockFi bankruptcies, which gave him an early and close-up view of where the industry's fault lines were. From there, he moved into investing at Corner Ventures, covering both blockchain and non-blockchain venture investing before joining CoinFund.

Jonathan’s background in traditional finance shapes how he thinks about the financial infrastructure being built on blockchain rails for people and agents. He also has strong conviction around prediction markets and novel types of markets in general as emerging institutional asset classes, and has backed founders building in and around that space. Portfolio companies Jonathan has backed at CoinFund include Veda, Parity, Bloom, and FactMachine.

Jonathan is an active participant in panels and conversations across agentic commerce and onchain markets. Outside of investing, he is obsessed with skiing and also likes surfing, hiking, generally being outside, and great food. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
