An engineer and quantitative researcher by training, with a background in pure mathematics, computer science, and financial technology, Jake has held roles at Amazon, Highbridge Capital Management, and Kohera. He previously served as partner and CTO at Triton Research, where he worked on quantitative trading infrastructure and early digital asset market research.

Born to two computer scientists and trained as an engineer, Jake has been building conviction around decentralized systems since before most people knew what a blockchain was, and sees crypto and AI as the two most important technical frontiers of his lifetime.

Jake has been investing in crypto since CoinFund's founding in 2015, and is widely recognized as one of the first crypto-native venture investors. He is also one of the earliest and most prolific voices in decentralized AI (DeAI), having written about and invested in the space for more than 10 years. He works closely with founders in the portfolio, with his focus centering on technical infrastructure and the intersection of crypto and artificial intelligence (such as decentralized AI systems, cryptoeconomic network design, and new models for coordinating open digital infrastructure).

Jake writes and speaks regularly on blockchain technology, cryptoeconomics, and decentralized AI, and is a frequent contributor to industry conferences and media.
