Long bio

Einar Braathen is a Partner at CoinFund, a blockchain-native investment firm founded in 2015, with his investment focus centered on technical infrastructure, DeFi, and decentralized AI (DeAI). Before joining CoinFund, he was an investor at both Accel and General Catalyst. Originally from Norway and now based in Boston, Einar invests across all geographies and is drawn to the foundational technology layers that decentralized networks run on. His previous international background gives him a global perspective on where the most interesting infrastructure, DeFi, and AI companies are being built. He has a special interest in early stage investments - ones where the technical foundations are still being laid and the right bet requires both conviction and patience.

Einar speaks and engages regularly across the early stage infrastructure, DeFi, and AI communities, with a particular interest in the foundational layers being built across geographies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and a Master's in Management from London Business School.
