Long bio

Alex Felix is Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer at CoinFund, a blockchain-native investment firm founded in 2015 that invests in early-stage companies and protocols building decentralized networks and financial infrastructure. He leads the firm's investment strategy across blockchain infrastructure, on-chain finance, consumer crypto, DePIN, and emerging sectors, including prediction markets and real-money gaming. Alex has been active in the crypto ecosystem for more than a decade and focuses on the development of financial infrastructure built on open blockchain networks, exploring how blockchain-based systems reshape payments, asset management, and global financial markets.

A former world-class ski racer turned TradFi investor, Alex has been personally and professionally backing crypto since 2013, long before it was a consensus view, driven by a belief that open financial networks will do to traditional capital markets what the internet did to media.

Before co-founding CoinFund, Felix held several senior roles across TradFi. At American Capital ($20+ billion AUM), Felix evaluated leveraged buyouts and junior debt investments across technology, financial services, healthcare, and industrials. Earlier in his career, he worked at RBS as a credit analyst covering leveraged loans, mezzanine debt, and equity investments across multiple industries, and led the sale process for the bank's Film Finance portfolio. He also worked in leveraged finance at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, supporting high-yield bond issuance for companies in the energy, power, and industrial sectors; and in real estate structured finance at Guggenheim Partners, analyzing leveraged commercial real estate investments.

He frequently participates in industry panels and conferences focused on digital assets, financial infrastructure, and emerging blockchain markets.
